]]>According to multiple reports, the Cubs and first baseman Anthony Rizzo have agreed to a seven-year, $41 million contract extension, with two club options worth $14.5 million each. Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal was the first to report the deal, which does not include a no-trade clause, according to the reports.
The deal for Rizzo, 23, will effectively buy out one year prior to qualifying for arbitration, plus four arbitration years and two years of free agency eligibility.
