Carlos Zambrano won’t be playing independent league baseball after all. The Phillies have signed him to a minor league contract.

Video of the Cubs plan for renovating Wrigley. Well, kind of. There is no mention of the Jumbotron. Nor does the video discuss anything to do with the neighborhood. They do mention new wi fi, larger rest rooms, more kiosks for you to spend money at and ticket packages that are now available.

No, I am not kidding.

There is a page that talks about benefits to the neighborhood. It is pretty generic stuff.

But it’s funny to me that, at this late stage, they are still dodging the issue of the damn Jumbotron.

According to multiple reports, the Cubs and first baseman Anthony Rizzo have agreed to a seven-year, $41 million contract extension, with two club options worth $14.5 million each. Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal was the first to report the deal, which does not include a no-trade clause, according to the reports.

The deal for Rizzo, 23, will effectively buy out one year prior to qualifying for arbitration, plus four arbitration years and two years of free agency eligibility.
