Vasher needs to go, along with Harris and Ogunleye. Gaines Adams is a bust. Yay Lions!

Bill Parcells should be brought in to clean house. He can name his coach. Believe it or not, I’d take Fatass Charlie Weiss as Offensive Coordinator.  I think Jay Cutler needs a hardass who will be on his ass.

"It is hard to gauge a quarterback who spends so much time on his back.” - Troy Aikman

“Running up the middle against that defensive line is an odd call.” - Joe Buck

“Cover 2 leaves the middle open and the Vikings will take advantage of that.” - Pam Oliver (pre game)

“The Vikings ran so many plays that offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell joked that he began running out of unused plays on his play sheet.” - Chip Scoggins (Access Vikings - Vikings ran 83 offensive plays)

“They went to the Superbowl with Ron Rivera, got rid of him and then went to Babich and now Smith. They have been in decline ever since that move and have yet to play well against even a good team.” - Troy Aikman (unsaid, they were doomed against a great team such as the Vikings)

“We’ve got a football team and we can make plays.” - Lovie Smith

Last night my friends and I had a bet going with the bartender. Every time Cutler got a full 3 seconds of protection in the 2nd half, the bar would buy a round. We got one free drink out of that deal and I am convinced it was a mercy drink. We would count out loud 1-1,000 and that would be as far as we usually got.

We also tried to get the bar to buy when the Bears lined up their safeties less than 15 yards off the line of scrimmage (red zone not included). He agreed but never had to pay for a drop. None of us could even justify a mercy drink on that one.

Great post Tyrone. GO HAWKS!

Normally I wouldn’t have seen the game. However, the local Fox station to it upon itself to show this one rather than a more regional matchup. Thanks...I think. Needless to say I hoped (against hope) that the Bears would actually show up. They didn’t.

This was total humiliation. The Vikings didn’t need big plays. They just got the ball, kept the ball, and marched up and down the field at will. Thanks to ESPN, I have the numbers breakdown for ya’ll.

0: The number of rushing first downs for the Bears, only the fifth time in franchise history this has happened.

2: Number of yards for the Bears in the second half. Yes. Total yards. How did they get 2 yards in an entire half? Well, Matt Forte did have that key 7-yard carry.

31-8: The Vikings’ first-down advantage.

2-for-8: The Bears’ third-down conversions.

12-for-18: The Vikings’ third-down conversions.

19:05: The Bears’ time of possession.

40:55: The Vikings’ time of possession.

That means the Vikings controlled the ball for almost 3 quarters. It was kind of like watching NBA players play keep-away with kindergarten kids.

Larry Meyer expounded on his blog from yesterday.

If Sunday’s game in Minnesota is any indication, the ever-increasing void between the Bears and Vikings has become so expansive that it should be measured in light years.

In a mismatch that was comparable to a monster truck against a matchbox car, Minnesota destroyed its NFC North rivals in every facet of the game in cruising to a 36-10 victory at the Metrodome.

Jared Allen registered two of Minnesota’s four sacks of Jay Cutler in the Vikings’ 36-10 drubbing of the Bears Sunday. The Vikings (10-1) held decisive advantages over the Bears (4-7) in total yards (537-169), first downs (31-8), offensive plays (83-38) and time of possession (40:55-19:05).
“We feel like crap today, there’s no way around it,” said an uncharacteristically blunt coach Lovie Smith. “It’s not a feel good that we have right now. But after a loss like that, that’s how it is.

“On days like today, there’s not a whole lot to say. We didn’t get a lot done. You have to give them a lot of credit. They’re a good football team. They definitely dominated us today.”

The reeling Bears have now lost four straight and six of seven.

Cutler had an opportunity to cut the lead to 17-14 and promptly tossed a pick in the red zone area. On the ensuing Bears drive he tossed another pick. Cutler is hardly faultless in all of this.

This is what I think about Cutler

On that red zone pick (it was actually past the goal line), the defender made a good play on the ball with a diving pick. Perhaps the receiver should have cut at the goal line. Still, you’re right, Cutler has his share of the blame.
