Silva is a game killer. Like I said here;
Quite honestly, I see Silva sitting on the bench and the Cubs doing all in their power to keep him off the mound. I know that there are articles claiming he will compete for the 5th starter spot. Whatever those writers have been partaking in it needs to be shared with the class. Because, when all is said and done, Carlos Silva is a very bad pitcher.
Not double digit ERA bad, just consistently bad enough to blow every game he is in. The Sox found out last year how demoralizing it is to have a team know that every 5th day they got a “L” before the first pitch was thrown.
If they can’t move him they need to stick him in the pen and pray for rain every day he is available.
