Oops, I meant he got ‘lit up’ in 3A.

Zambrano walked in a run, hit a batter, misplayed a chance to turn a double play and gave up a two-run single to Cubs coach Ivan DeJesus’ son, Ivan Jr., during a 32-pitch inning in Iowa’s loss to Albuquerque. It was Zambrano’s first poor outing in four minor-league appearances, raising the question about whether the events of the week affected his pitching.

Sounds ready to come back up to the Cubs and join them as they head to the playoffs.

I say the Cubs should just eat the 36 million that is left on his contract and just release him. He is a headcase that is currently pitching like a back up middle reliever. Did I mention that he is grossly over paid? Just get rid of him now.

I hear people say stuff like this but really? I don’t think there’s a team in MLB that would “just eat the 36 million”.  He has issues to be sure, but generally is a quality starter who eats innings.  There’s no question he doesn’t earn his salary, but I think the Cubs are better off with him than without him.

There’s nothing funny about domestic abuse. Except for when Mariotti is accused. And then it’s absolutely hilarious.
