Today’s column features the usual fake Tinky anger about the sweep, calling it more disappointing than 1969, 1984 and 2003. Not being a Cubs fan, I won’t posture about assigning relative degrees of disappointment but I’ll say this: he wasn’t here for either of the ‘69 and ‘84 seasons, so how can he compare them? His central point is absurd: that this was supposed to be The Year. Why, because somebody said so?
The only way this season could be remotely as disappointing as the others was the built-up expectations about The Year. The Cubs didn’t qualify for the post-season until the final week, after making up for a lousy April and May. They didn’t have home-field advantage. I thought they had a chance to win the NL pennant because of momentum but it wasn’t to be. The ‘69 Cubs blew a big regular-season lead when there were no playoffs, and the ‘84 and ‘03 teams were within outs of going to the World Series; tell me how this year’s team could be any more disappointing than any of those teams? I guess you can, if you’re a F***tard.
because he simply doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
I will merely use a quote Ozzie Guillen tossed out when asked about
the horrendous season the White Sox had in 2007:
“Thank God,the nightmare is over”.
There is nothing worse for this SOX fan than watching
the Lakeview Losers and their bleating sheep screaming “this is our year”.
Your year for what?? CHOKING ON YOUR OWN VOMIT LIKE YOU
DID IN 1969,1984,1989, OR 2003?? If that’s what you meant,
than yes,this is your “year”.
Chris Young,thank you very much. Your 2 HR’S and 4 RBI’S
were much appreciated. Kenny Williams, how could you think
Brian Anderson was better than this guy??It was great to see “Fonzie”,
“D-Lee” and “A Ram” choke in this series. In my eyes,God is truly
a White Sox fan. They will rebound in 2008.
``Goodbye, everyone,’’ ex-Cub Mark Grace, now an D-Backs broadcaster, said as he left the press box. ``Tell everyone the Cubs had a nice season.’’
Then he looked at me. ``I know you won’t,’’ he said. F***tard
Tinky feigning disappointment is just another excuse for his self righteous blustering.
The BPLP wasn’t feigning disappointment. He was rejoicing in the fact that Grace was mocking his negativity, something he loves to exploit on ATH as well. He may justify his useless, pathetic existence with the “I calls ‘em like I sees ‘em” rhetoric, but the only thing worse than constantly acting like a F***tard, is bragging when someone calls you a F***tard.

I agree with you, but the feigning part of my post was addressing Fredsox and his original point. I suppose I could have made it clearer.
I would love nothing more than to see a Cubs Sox WS. I happen to like them both and have watched both since I was little. It actually amazes me that some of you can live in the same city and act like a bunch of delinquents. All of you guys that bitch and moan deserve each other.
Kenny Williams,how could you think
Brian Anderson was better than this guy??
Anderson certainly wasn’t the solution, but have you looked at Young’s entire stat line?
A .237 batting average, .295 OBP, and 141 strikeouts isn’t exactly stellar for a leadoff man.
Yes,this is true, but I would hope (hope being the operative word)
that those statistics improve next season. We’ll see what happens.
I’ll attribute the post more to my heart than my head.
