How the Top 10 Chicago White Prospects did in spring training. Hitters show HR, RBI and BA. Pitchers show W-L, ERA

Sox:
1. Addison Reed, rhp - 0-0, 3.52 ERA.....9 K’s in 7.2 IP
2. Nestor Molina, rhp - 1-1, 8.44 ERA.....Opposing batters hit .435 against Molina
3. Simon Castro, rhp - 1-1, 13.50 ERA.....Opposing batters hit .400 against Castro
4. Trayce Thompson, of - 0 HR, 0 RBI, .300
5. Jake Petricka, rhp
6. Keenyn Walker, of
7. Jhan Marinez, rhp - 0-1, 10.38 ERA.....Opposing batters hit .412 against Marinez
8. Tyler Saladino, ss - 0 HR, 2 RBI, .222
9. Juan Silverio, 3b
10. Ozzie Martinez, ss - 0 HR, 0 RBI, .000

Addison Reed was the only White Sox prospect pitcher to pitch well in spring training and may be on the opening day roster.

Nestor Molina, Simon Castro and Jhan Marinez all need a lot of work, before returning to White Sox. Molina was the biggest disappointment to me, considering the Sox gave up closer Sergio Santos to obtain Castro. Santos has a 0.00 ERA this spring for the Blue Jays.

Viciedo will be heading north no matter what because KW insists on it.

Ozzie didn’t want him last year and let KW know it. Ventura doesn’t have the balls to stand up to KW.

KW thinks Viciedo is a Cuban Babe Ruth or something.

KW is a fucking idiot.

17 White Sox players have more hits this spring than the 6 by Viciedo. He has 43 AB’s and is hitting .140 with one double and one RBI this spring. Spring training numbers usually don’t mean anything, but would make an exception since Viciedo has an OBP of .196 and doesn’t belong in the majors right now, regardless of what KW wants. Viciedo should have already been sent down, so he can get his confidence back and learn how to take a walk. How can the Sox bring Viciedo north with him having 3 hits in his last 30 at bats?

At 5 foot 11 and 240 pounds, can’t see Viciedo chasing down many gappers.

His 2010 and 2011 numbers show he is regressing, instead of progressing while in majors.

2010 - 5 HR’s, 13 RBI, .308 BA, .519 SLG in 104 AB’s
2011 - 1 HR, 6 RBI, .255 BA, .314 SLG in 102 AB’s

Hope KW doesn’t force Robin Ventura to keep Viciedo on opening day roster. If he does that will be a recipe for disaster.

Jordan Danks has already played two full seasons in AAA, so he doesn’t need any more seasoning. He is hitting .333 which is almost 200 points higher than Viciedo. Can’t wait to see Ventura’s decision on this one, if he has any say in the decision.
