Knowing Bud Selig, as a condition for MLB approval of the sale, he’ll make the Dodgers move to the N.L. East.

That seems quite high. Does that include Dodger Stadium?

The acquiring group, called Guggenheim Baseball Management, has several other investors, among them Mandalay Entertainment chief executive Peter Guber, Guggenheim Partners president Todd Boehly and Bobby Patton, who operates oil and gas properties among his investments. Kasten is the former president of the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.

I would much prefer having Magic Johnson and gang in charge of a professional sports franchise than Michael Jordan and his casino chips.

Back in the day would it have been “ Trade Jordan”?

I wouldn’t put it past Selig to move the Dodgers back to Brooklyn.

Do we have any accountants on this list? I’m curious what the tax rate will be on this transaction. I suspect it will be considered a capital gain. Approximately $1.5 billion in capital gain. I’m so pissed at my dad for having regular sperm and not lucky sperm.

Won’t the McCords make some cash on this transaction too?
Still, $2 billion seems like a fuckton of money.

Just FYI, one of the architects of the Dodgers’ deal, Mark Walter, had about $125,000,000,000 laying around and is a season ticket holder for the Cubs. He never even thought about buying them when they were up for sale.

This will depress Cap’n.
Buying the Dodgers might mean giving up those season tickets over at Wrigley…
