The radio guys are saying that the Hawks aren’t as dominant on on the PP as they are at even sides. 28-8 in SOG Hawks.

Very painful but it is what it is the Hawks just don’t have it.

Slim at least we have the Bulls......

I can’t complain about this one. The Yotes were the better team tonight. Sometimes, and this is one of them, you just have to tip your hat, say, “Congratulations” and move on.

Hawks were pathetic.  Changes need to be made.

Trade Kane.

I realize Hawks fans are ready to jump off a cliff, saying fire everyone, get rid of everyone, we need Byfuglien/Niemi/Campbell/Ladd/Versteeg/etc. but this team isn’t that far off.  If the 2 teams trade goaltenders, the Hawks probably win the series 4-0 or 4-1 at worst.  They are already one of the best offensive teams in the league and are one solid blue liner away from having a great defense.

The goaltending has been a problem ever since getting rid of Khabibulin of all people.  It was supposed to be Huet but he stunk then Niemi took over.  It was supposed to be Turco but he stunk then Crawford took over.  It was supposed to Crawford but then he stinks, but Emery did not take over because he’s no better.  Btw, just for kicks, Niemi has been a disappointment in San Jose, who also got bounced in the 1st round.  Any way to get Ryan Miller?  I’d trade Kane for him if Miller weren’t 32.  Who else is out there that can backstop a team to a Cup?  Mike Smith came from out of nowhere.  Hawks need something like that to happen to them like it did with Niemi.

And write the same stuff after getting bounced out of next season’s playoffs in the first round once again.

This team is nowhere close to being a championship contending squad. It was ass whipped.

There are no checkers. There is no fighter. Both starter and backup goalies are 2nd rate. The defense is soft and mistake prone. The forwards are too small.

I said this team was in big trouble. And it was.

I am a fan. But I refuse to swap realism with blind faith and devotion to nameplates and numbers on $500 road jerseys.

Kane is a depreciating asset yet one that could still net a return. He is overpaid for his current production. His numbers are on a continuous slide over the past few seasons. Dump him now.

And Brent Seabrook should be traded as well. He is a liability on the ice. Give Leddy one more season and a chance to take Seabrook’s role. If Leddy cannot handle it, deal him later.

This team badly needs a #2 center. It can no longer count on Hossa. He is a wildcard now with that undisclosed head injury. Brendan Morrisons are not going to win Stanley Cups.

Goalies are starting to evolve like baseball pitchers. They can play longer workloads, last more seasons than other positions and play into their late 30s.

Miller might have another 5 solid seasons. And no Mike Smith did not come out of nowhere. Phoenix was more than equipped to dismantle this Hawks team. And it did rather efficiently.
