The Hawks don’t need Kane.

What they do need is better goaltending, a more diversified blend of forwards and an upgrade on defensive defenseman.

You cannot get something without giving up something.

Kane is progressively worsening in offensive output (because I know how much you guys love stats).

Look it up.

The clock is ticking on his worth.

But by all means, keep him.

And miss the playoffs next season.

If they can trade Kane for better goaltending, a more diversified blend of forwards and an upgrade on defensive defenseman, they should do it.  Otherwise, keep him.
