There is something Moneyball can’t explain, the often-bandied-about concept of “knowing how to win”. A team that knows how to win hits better than the other team when it doesn’t pitch well, pitches better than the other team when it doesn’t hit well. The 2005 Sox were not a statistically impressive team, with only Paul Konerko driving in 100 RBI (and only 100, exactly) but they knew how to win. Whether the final score was 10-8 or 2-1, they beat you.
This team is figuring out how to win. They are winning both high scoring and low scoring games. This is important stuff, it generates confidence as the season wears on. They will likely be in it all year.

This is a spot on description of the Sox. I couldn’t agree more.

I agree with Roman that this team should be in it all season.
