Well, give them this for consistency, they lost AGAIN. They are 0 for the Season...and have to play Detriot tomorrow...0-5. The formula is out on them...work as hard as they do, attack their guards, make them continue to shoot jump shots, and you can beat them…
What’s worse is here’s what the “self-proclaimed” best player on the team Ben Gordon had to say after the game:
“It’s lack of execution. We haven’t followed the game plan.”
Seven straight misses after they took the late 89-85 lead, and then didn’t score again until 25.9 seconds left.
From Coach Scott Skiles:
“We did several things better,” Skiles said. “But when it was time to make big plays, we had trouble. We missed layups, three-on-one possession. And a couple of times we weren’t able to get back on transition. And they just seized the game.
“One-on-one defense, they just drove right by us. If you’re playing somebody on the wing, you have to do more than get faked and allow a straight-line drive to the basket.”
Gordon can’t finish around the basket, and thinks that he’s Allen Iverson trying to draw fouls...again from Coach Skiles:
“We’re continuously driving it into other teams’ big people and flailing and losing the ball,” Skiles said. “I don’t know if we’re expecting foul calls or what.”
And before we start with this “they start slow every year” argument, be prepared to answer why we should accept a “Championship Team” losing their 1st four games to beatable opponents?
