Maybe Coop should start spending less time telling KW what a great GM he is and spend more time helping Humber and Floyd figure out why they’re getting the brains knocked out every time they pitch.

Happy Tuesday!

I stay confused and part of it is when I think about Gavin Floyd and Phillip Humber.

These are how many runs Humber has give up in his last 9 starts starting with the perfect game:

0-9-3-8-1-2-5-2-5

Hope Humber gets it together soon, or he may have pitched a perfect game and been taken out of rotation the same year or even possibly sent to minors.

The key for Humber is to get to an 0-2 count on batters, since they are 1-25 against him on 0-2 pitches. Batters hit .195 against him when the bases are empty, but .303 with runners on. One positive is that batters hit .059 against him with 1 hits in 17 AB’s with runners in scoring position and two outs.

I sign every autograph I can for kids because I remember myself at that age. I think it’s ridiculous that some guys won’t sign for a kid.

Trade Humber.

That perfect game ruined this kid.

Adam Dunn is second in the majors in home runs with 18. Josh Hamilton is slumping with only 3 home runs since and is 3-21 in June, so wouldn’t surprise me, to see Dunn be the major league leader in home runs. What a difference from last season, for Dunn to hit 11 home runs in 2011, then rebound to hit 18 in about a third of the season in 2012.

Big Star is right. That perfect game may have been the worst thing that could have happened to Humber, especially considering Mark Buehrle slumped after his perfect game. Peavy and Sale are carrying the Sox rotation, since Danks, Floyd and Humber all have losing records and the bullpen is 8-8.

One positive is that Jose Quintana has allowed only 3 runs in 16 innings this season.

Ryan Dempster has allowed 2 or less runs seven times this season in 10 starts. Know the bullpen blew at least 2 of his wins this season. Now that he is 1-3, I can’t say the No.1 and No.5 starters haven’t won a game this season. Now it is time for Travis Wood to win some games.

Cal Ripken said he always knew how many outs there were during a game, something Starlin Castro can’t say. I know Castro is only 22, but that is no excuse to keep making mental errors.

Don’t look now, but the Milwaukee Brewers seemed to be on a mission to roust the Cubs out of last place.

Can’t believe the Cardinals are in third place behind the Reds and Pirates, with the Cardinals having a 28-28 record, so the Cubs could move up in the standings, before this season is over.

He has an awesome breaking ball.

Cubs win?  Sox lose?  Confusing for sure.  I had to drop Humber from my fantasy team—picked him up just after the perfecto.  He’s killing me and he kills the Sox every time he pitches.

He needs to develop a breaking ball.

Coop needs to show Mr. Humber how to throw a breaking ball.

It will help with those WAAAAAAYYY outside pitches.

Maybe that’s why Tommy Lasorda had a heart attack…

Smart move to dump Humber from your fantasy team. If I remember right, he didn’t pitch that well in the second half of the 2011 season.
