I was hoping for .260-.280 with some power.  I never would have expected anything like this.

I expected the same - some veteran leadership, decent numbers and being a good teammate. He’s playing like he’s possessed.

He’s playing to give the Red Sox another reason to fire Valentine.

His contract has a $13 million club option for next year. I will bet you if he keeps this up for the rest of the season, the Sox will pick up that option.
