This is not a bad move for the time being. You take a starter out of the rotation of a division rival (who sucks this season) and add to your own depleted staff (Danks is unreliable for now, Humber is a wildcard and Sale might be developing a dead arm)

KW had a terrible offseason. But these moves - Youkilis/Meyers/Liriano in midseason have not been bad.

Almost need 2 GMs - one for offseason moves and KW to tinker with the lineup during midseason.

I think Liriano will do well on the Sox. His ERA hsa been dropping over the last two months and he knows the opponents well, Also he fits KW’s one big requirement; he has postseason experience.

Not a big Liriano fan but I’m reminded why I’m a KW fan… he’s the only GM in town that consistently goes for it.  GarPax and Stan Bowman shrug their shoulders and say they’re trying but never have anything to show for it.  KW is constrained by a budget but he finds a way to get the team what it needs.

Heard Coop on the radidiio (how very 70’s of me) saying that Liriano had gotten away from squaring up his hips when he completed his pitches. He says it’s an easy bad habit to fix.
