I tend to stand with Golic on this. What does Reilly know about the Notre Dame culture? Zero. What he’s whinning about is the fact that Notre Dame has taken advantage of their brand by being independent. Since it isn’t against NCAA rules, what’s the problem?

Reilly is right for the premise of his argument. Notre Dame is an insignificant football program. And has been for quite sometime. It is an institution based on ancient history and mythical rhetoric. And it should be relegated to the has-been pile.

And then he is wrong about everything else.

Golic is right for the premise of his counter-argument. No business is going to turn down revenue from a major television network. No business is going to turn down the other sources of revenue in exchange for next to nothing.

And then he is wrong about everything else.

I have no horse to back on this dumb manufactured argument. Both Reilly and Golic are F***tard .s.
