Unlike Mike Quade before him, Dale Sveum understood that this was to be a season long dismantlement of an overpaid underachieving ballclub.

True, but I’m not sure he saw this level of destruction coming. I know I didn’t.

Interesting. Very interesting.

So what did you expect?

Keep Ryan Dempster and bid against the free agency market for a 35 year old?

Geo Soto and Reed Johnson represent the future?

Ramirez still at 3rd?

Maholm was dealt because of the Dempster fiasco.

Soriano would be a Giant if he would waive the no-trade.

Kerry Wood still in the bullpen?

Starlin Castro’s contract was (will be?) extended.

Koyie Hill is really missed?

Garza has been shelved for the season. Still a Cnb.

Marmol is still (unbelievable IMO) the closer. Not that he gets much work these days.

All Star Bryan LaHair is still around. Why, I dunno.

No, but I did expect them to keep Malholm. I also figured Johnson would be a good player to mentor the kids. Also, LaHair should be traded to a team that needs a first baseman. He has sucked since being moved to the field.

Well, Theogime might have been able to keep Malhom. But of course Dempster went all Benedict Arnold on them....

As for LaHair, is he really a great defensive 1st baseman? Is that what teams really want in a playoff run? A guy that cannot really hit (minus about 6 weeks) but play a super duper 1st base?

I dunno.

He has sucked since pitchers started throwing a lot of breaking balls. And without Rudy around…

KW would be nuts (wait okay he’s already nuts..make that more nuts than he already is) not to try and lock up Youkilis for at least the next 2-3 years.

The Sox need to rethink that premium pricing bullshit. They need to get more butts in the seats.

LaHair saw braking balls before he got moved. If I were an up and coming team I’d snag him for a couple of years while the farm system replenished itself. Houston would be a good spot for him. As would KC or Colorado. All three have kids who will be ready in a couple of years and he’s solid enough not to embarrass anyone. As to Malholm, I must sadly agree.

I used to throw a mean braking ball back in the day. That fucker would literally dead cold before reaching the plate, and woof!!!

A swing and a miss.

Every single fucking time.

So kudos for LaHair having the itchymoniaal (whatever sp?) to be able to hit a braking ball.

As for hitting breaking balls, LaHair fucking blows.

LaHair would be a fucking stud in Kansas City. Trade him for those fountains.
