It’s a weekend, so I figure you have a little time to read. And since today’s offering (much like the offerings I get from my 21 year old, incontinent, cat by the door) smells too bad to contemplate, I wrote about something else. New post coming up shortly.

BBB, I had no idea that your musical knowledge was as eclectic as it is. I think that this one was about as profound as anything that’s appeared here. I’m not saying that because we’re friends, but rather because that’s how I feel. Brilliant, have a Guiness or, at least, a banana.

It just goes to show that here at JTJ, we don’t have a template to the blog entries on the main page. This is quite unlike the BPLP. It also goes to show that we’re not all about porn or jokes. Some recent posts from the membership have been outstanding. It’s occurred to me that there are usually more insights here in a day than F***tard has in a year.

Thank you for that. It’s nice to know someone read it. And, yeah, my taste in music is pretty broad. I was listening to Jazz Wednesday night, techno last night and Ukrainian opera this morning. All happily, I might add. I just wanted to have a kind of bullet point reference guide for the bullshit that gets spewed out of his columns* every day.

As you well know, my musical background is very broad. My Dad’s work with the Big Bands was the basis. Of course, during the 60s I was in a couple of garage bands. I’ve training on the classical guitar (if you ever want to hear something unbelievable, listen to Segovia’s rendering of the Chaconne from the 1st violin partita. He was 60 when it was recorded). Being from the south side I love the blues. Jazz definitely is part of the package. There are two really good jazz shows on wabe.org at 8 and 9 (ET) on Saturday nights.

Here’s another one from the same band. Although you won’t believe that until the very end. But, check out the imagery. This is Aryan Nation stuff gone art. The song is a cover of a Beatles’ song, and is very well done. If just a bit Nihilistic. But, it fits the theme I posited on the front page. Speaking of Aryans, if you want to mess with one (and it is easy to do), mention to them that “true Aryans” are actually the upper caste in India and are not very pale at all. Then watch them vibrate.

I applaud this article. I came back for the express purpose of suggesting “My Knight In Black Leather” by Bette Midler as Mariotti’s theme song. Here is a clip of Midler lipsynching on “Musikladen”. In this clip, Midler pioneers the makeup style that Jay adapted for ATH.

Somewhere, he’s on this board, watching this clip, mad that the backup dancers are female. FTF. Long live JTJ.

One correction, it’s called Oi! music and it’s generally anti-racism.  A lot of people paint punks, especially skins, with a broad brush and assume they’re all racist.  It’s simply not true.  Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of white power idiots out there spreading their hate-filled message; but just because someone shaves his head and dresses a certain way doesn’t make him racist.  There are actually a bunch of various factions within the skinhead culture that are quite fascinating.

Very informative article otherwise.

Edit- I tried linking to the Oi! entry on wikipedia, but for some weird reason every time I put the link up it would go to the wrong page.  I tried to embed it and cut and paste it and I had the same result both times.  So if you want more info. on Oi!, go to wikipedia and search for it (don’t forget the exclamation point).  It has a lot of good info. about the genre.

No, I am aware of the Angelic Upstarts and many of the original Oi! bands. I made the distinction of OY versus OI since many of the white power groups have misspelled it in their fliers and so on. The Wikipedia article you cite can be found here. But, I stand by the what I said since the bands I was thinking of like Aryan Power 4Ever (really) have screwed up their own genre name and don’t understand why I think they are stupid as a box of rocks. And why they inspired me to think of F***tard.

I was unaware of the Oy sub-sect.  I stand corrected.  What a bunch of jerkoffs.

And thus their immortalization and my connecting them to F***tard.

Edit: I re-read what I wrote. While mutant form of punk was clear to me, I should have added a sentence about the legitimate OI! movement just for clarity. Oh, and KP, I was looking for a complete lifestyle and sound that fit F***tard. Bette actually has talent and a life. Neither can be said of F***tard. Even so, congrats on your tour. It seems things are going well for you.

Today’s blog is all due to Neil Steinberg. Not that he has anything against Mariotti or anything like that. Except for one minor misstatement that I once heard on the radio, he has never said anything to me, or anyone else I know, that could be termed as disparaging toward Mariotti. In fact, for all I know he and Mariotti split a croissant over their morning lattes before ambling to their respective cubicles

Interesting article, but did you forget Steinberg’s 9:38 anti-Mariotti rant (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyesUCKydN8) or have just not had enough coffee yet this morning the trigger my irony detector?

The bolded sections refernce each other. Have another cup of good coffee and you’ll get it.

While I understand your line of reasoning and believe you have hit this one out of the park Bill, I still can’t get it out of my mind that when I hear Tinky mentioned it’s Wham! that plays inside my sick head. This is a contributing factor as to why I detest the F***tard. Wham! was a useless nauseatingly poppy garbage band with no social relevance and was also loaded with homo erotic overtones. Laibach seems to fit him* better though.
