I have thoroughly enjoyed watching two division leading teams trade sweeps. A lot of good baseball was played. Tonight Jim Thome went to 16th on the all time home run list. Bragging right are even and both teams now go onto important series. So what do we get in the colum:
Neither team has much chance at a world series.
The Cell is not a nice place to go to.
Both teams need to improve their roster.
Ozzie is lucky with his roster.
Finally Lou is back to “Lou-nacy’.
This is a sad warped spitefull comentator who can’t see anything positive in 6 fun games.
My personal favorite is “Wasn’t that a little girl just a few feet from the melee? I want to shout, es yo were Mariotti!!
My son and nephew just stared at me when Thome just SMOKED that HR, since I had just told them that he was close to getting one with the two foul balls he had hit. I yelled “He got it!” when he hit it, and they just couldn’t believe that the old guy actually got one right.
It’s a minor piece of baseball knowledge, but still light years ahead of the F***tard, so I’ll take it!
Okay, new post, new server, lots of new stuff. So, in honor of that, I decided to link to a new member. Congratulations Steve on your first front page mention!
Great series back to back. Both teams held serve on their homefield, as expected. This week is a huge stretch for both teams. Let’s see some more fans at the cell this week. starting with a sell-out tonight!!

I’d ask what’s up with that image, but I’m afraid to know.

I really have no idea. Just that it was the Gay Pride parade yesterday, we’re “back” and that seemed like a happy, if hairy, back. I really didn’t put a whole lot of thought into it.

I think I’d better wait an hour before trying to eat lunch now.
Now that we’re done playing each other (until October?) I have to hand it to both teams and their fans. This is shaping up to be the greatest summer ever for Chicago baseball and I wish I was home for it. Peter Gammons said it best when he called Chicago one of the greatest baseball towns on the planet. GO WHITE SOX...and yes, GO CUBS.
