Hey guys,

New post up about Len and Bob’s uncanny talent as a jinx in big situations. Any thoughts on that or anything else about the Cubs announcing crew?

They fucking blow.

As do the Cubs this year.

Bring back Steve Stone for commentary. Broadcaster not required.

I am not even a Cubs fan and I miss hearing Steve Stone.  I prayed for days after he was released, the Sox would pick him up.  A little of it was just out of spite.  But the major reason was that Steve Stone is a genius of the game and not enough people realize this.  And no matter how bad the sox guys can be at times, they know when not to talk about a no hitter or know the subtle ways of talking around the subject but letting everyone know what is going on.

And Matt - we do not advocate “curses” or “hexes” here at JTJ.

Leave that bullshit to F***tard.

Thanks.

I think Len and Bobs Bogus Journey might be more appropriate.

I know Tyrone.  I don’t usually like venturing into the mystical hex territory.  That said, it’s just so idiotic for announcers to try and predict and plead for home runs in extra innings.  We’re all thinking it already, they don’t need to say it.  It just puts out bad vibes.

Has the brass asked these 2 clowns to do a poor man’s impression of Hawk and DJ (rooting for the home team)?

At least they don’t pronounce names backwards.
We miss Harry also. Now let’s get some runs. And a Budweiser too…

My cousin is taking us to the Cubs game tonight. Maybe I’ll see another no-hitter . . . by Suppan. He didn’t pitch one when I saw him vs. the Marlins two weeks ago (he was the loser in that one) so maybe his time is right.

Second thought, I’ld like to see red-hot Rich Hill toss one.  That would be something else to toss in Tinky’s face, after today’s remark about the rest of the Cubs pitching staff.

I particularly miss Harry thinking every black cubs player was Shawon Dunston.  Even in the years after Dunston left the team.

We really love our crazy old announcers in this town ... Santo, Harry, Johnny Red Kerr ... not sure why.

There is nothing wrong with having a homer doing the game.  That is hte reason you listen to the teams broadcast.  Ron Santo is the biggest homer around.  As long as it mindless stupidity and the announcers sucking on the nipple of the team I have no problem with it.  They have to be able to call out a team that is playing bad or doing something stupi.d But what is wrong with being a homer.  Isnt that what all of us are?

Runs yes, Budweiser no. Shit makes me sick. And Matt no bad vibs- must manifest the ball going over the wall--I’ve been reading The Secret- whatever I BELIEVE TO BE TRUE, WILL COME TRUE-- so watch out guys--- like attracts like-- I will give you an example-- yesterday I manifested having a cold beer after work but no beer at home-- but I really really BELIEVED it would have one-- got home and guess what- cold beer in the fridge!!!! Like attracts like- I like Beer, it likes me. Another example-- Paco and F***tard-- both homo’s-- like attracts like. So, believe that the Cubs will win and it will come true.

Matt, who was that old announcer for the Bears when Butkus was on the radio with him? I remember him also doing Bulls and some Cubs games. He was one of the best play by play Chicago sports announcers until he went up to Green Bay.
Santo might be good on television. I heard he is sick again. Anyone know if he’s doing better or even on the air?
