Great post Bill....Bradley has only played in over 101 games twice so am not surprised he is already having health problems. He will be complaining about an ingrown toenail next. Viciedo may give Fields a run for his money. By the way I just read the Cubs have signed Corey Koskie to a minor league contract. He hasn’t played since 2006 when he suffered a concussion while with the Brewers. He is almost exclusively a third baseman and hasn’t played any other infield positions so he may be backup for Ramirez but hardly worth using a roster spot for someone that can’t play other positions. In 2001 he hit 26 homers and drove in 103 runs for the Twins. Steroids alert: he hit 9 homers in 2000 and 26 in 2001.
I saw that signing. Since it is for a minor league contract it doesn’t strike me as a big deal. Maybe he can help the kids out down there. But, yeah, I don’t see him making the main club. What I am baffled by is this; how the heck do you tweak a quad when you don’t even swing the bat?
I think Chicago Cubs fans will be amazed at how many excuses Bradley will use to miss games. He should be paid by the games he actually plays. If he knows he is losing money he might play with the nagging injuries other major leaguers play all season with.

NiteOwl, is there any reason to think that Bradley’s prior injuries weren’t real? My sense isn’t that he was faking his injuries or soft, but that he just has been fragile. I don’t care for him, but he does seem like he competes hard.

Dave...you may be right...maybe he is just fragile. The way Hoffpauir is hitting so far in spring training it may be a good thing if Bradley misses some games but Hoffpauir is not a good right fielder.

Neither is Bradley. As constituted, the Cubs could start with the worst defensive outfield in MLB. Pitching and hitting don’t help that much hen every grounder turns into a double.

The signing of Bradley may have ruined Hoffpauir’s chance to be an everyday player. Singles turning into doubles scares me especially if it is first batter of the inning.
