Good post man but in my humble opinion if the Bulls don’t get at least the 5th seed, I can’t see them advancing out of the first round.

Between you and I, this year’s teams don’t have the easy one off like they did a couple of years back. I figure, no matter who they face, they aren’t making it to the second round. But, if they can give someone a real run for their money, I will still be happy. Especially since this team can come back in tact next year. I am looking at them like last year’s Blackhawks.

You are right. The Bulls have some room to move and can continue to upgrade without having cap worries. Granted, they can’t get Kobe or someone like that, but I don’t think they will need that.

Hey, do we think this Bulls team can finish 6-3 and at least .500 for the season?  I would enjoy watching any Bulls playoff basketball, but, knowing your team didn’t make the playoffs with a losing record would feel a bit better…

I agree. I hate seeing a losing record in the playoffs. But the fact that they have turned things around this much gives me hope. 6-3 is possible.

Excellent post, Bill.  I’ve been riding Vinny hard all season, but I think he has accidentally learned how to coach better in the last few weeks, ever since injuries forced him into an 8 man rotation LOL

I agree that going 6-3 to have a .500 record is a must, and given the schedule, very feasible.  I’d love an 8-1 close and a stealing of the 5 seed, we’ll see how it shakes out.

As for down the line moves, I’d only trade for Bosh or Amare if they agree to a contract extension immediately upon being traded for and at this point I probably wouldn’t overpay for either guy in a trade since both guys are free-agents after next season.  You’d only be getting one season out of these guys unless they agree to an extension.  I’d rather wait and go after them in free agency without having to give up anything but money, especially if the rumors that Chicago is Bosh’s #1 destination are indeed true.

And I’d stay away from Wade.  I won’t complain if they do get him, but I’d prefer they don’t.  Wade would be the oldest option of the 3 (28) at the time at a position that is easier to fill (wing-player) and is somewhat injury-prone.  His style lends itself to injuries, as we’ve seen in the past.  I’d rather get the younger big man.  Bosh would only be 25 and Amare 26,.
